Obituary of Joseph J. Sullivan

55, of St. Petersburg, died peacefully at home on April 5, 2009. He was born in White Plains, NY on February 10, 1954. He was currently employed at the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Community Health Nurse Coordinator. He obtained his BSN from George Mason University in 2000. Currently he was enrolled in University of Phoenix to obtain his Master's Degree in Nursing. Previously he was employed at Sarasota County Health Department as a Clinical Coordinator, RN. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, collecting antiques, shopping, and caring for his dogs Molly, Stella, Hailey, and Abbey. He was predeceased by his beloved parents William and Janet Egan Sullivan and his brother in law, Bob Geiger. Survived by siblings, Bill Brigid Sullivan of Morris, NY; Maureen Kevin Creeden of Lake Villa, IL; Michael Linda Sullivan of Sodus, NY; Janet Geiger of Rockport, MA; Anne Joe Frisbie of VanEtten, NY and Barbara David Peterson of Wheeling, IL and several nieces and nephews, Kelly, Sean, Jason, Michael, Andy, Matt, Tim, Chris, Katie, Tara, Megan, Kayla, Sarah, Nicole. He is also survived by his companion Wayman Caruthers and special friends John Dantzman and Anne & Joe Mallen. His smile and laughter will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Friends are invited to celebrate his life on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at James Reese Funeral Home at 6767 Seminole Boulevard in Seminole with a viewing from 9:30 to 11:00 am and a service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Avenue North, Clearwater.
