Kenneth Bluett

Obituary of Kenneth Richard Bluett

Bluett, Kenneth Richard, 92, of Largo passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2020. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 3, 1928 to Lillian and Robert Bluett. Ken went to Purdue University College of Engineering. Soon after graduating he joined his father Robert and his brother Bobby to form Bluett Homebuilders. He and Bobby built the company into one of the largest homebuilders in the Chicago area. He married the love of his life, Nancy, August 15, 1950. After 20 years, Ken retired and along with Nancy and their six children moved to the Florida Keys. He enjoyed sailing and teaching his children to dive, water ski, sail, and how to love the water. Ken was an amazing husband and father who always taught and led by example. All who knew him admired his incredible willingness to lend a hand on any project or share his advice. He enjoyed traveling from the Key's to Clearwater where he helped his sons grow Schooner Prints Inc. He designed and helped build automated equipment for Schooner's production lines. In 1988, he and Nancy moved to Largo where they enjoyed the company of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ken was a devout Catholic with great faith.

He is survived by his children Mark (Laura) Bluett, Michael (Julie) Bluett, Christine (Dan) Arrison, Mitchell Bluett, Patrick Bluett, and Timothy (Stella) Bluett. Loving grandfather of 19 and great Grandfather of 14. Beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Ken will be remembered and live on in our hearts forever.
