Karl was my Deerfield High School computer teacher (1976). He introduced me to computers when they were strange and unique. I was taught life skills that are still important to me.
The measure of a person is what they do above and beyond. I broke my leg in a soccer game and was laid up in the hospital for several days. Out of nowhere, Mr. Wildermuth walked in to say hello and talk with me for a little while. Not about school, not about making up missed classroom time- just to say hello and express his concern. To this day I remember Karl and smile at his kindness and compassion.
I wanted to share this story with the family.
Thank you.

Karl was my 7th and 8th grade home room teacher at Nichols School in Evanston. Yesterday while in the DC area I visited the Marine Museum and I thought about Mr. Wildermuth and what a great teacher and person he was. It sounds as if he had a great and full life. I am sorry for your loss.

I was lucky enough to know Karl since I was a young girl in the ‘60s and spend time with him and his family in both Crivitz and Florida. He loved taking us on pontoon rides on Left Foot Lake, watching the loons that came in the summer. I have very special memories of Karl and he will be greatly missed. Prayers to Beverly and the rest of his family. God bless, Diane Backs
